The cells that make us think abstractions are in the middle of memory. Those cell's mission is to connect memories into new entirety. And they play key elements in productive and abstract thinking.
The individual cells, once called "Jennifer Aniston cells" control the human brain's ability to handle and create abstractions. The ability to think abstractions is the thing. That makes us humans. The purpose of those things is to connect memories together into new entirety. That is the key to thinking abstractions or commonly: imagination. Brains are quite slow thinkers.
Their thinking speed is about 10 bits per second. That thing is quite slow. But brains can start thinking in multiple positions in the brains. And that makes them effective. Brains have two speeds to handle information. The faster speed is for emergencies. When senses bring information to brains that they mark as "danger" neurons can store the abstraction and use the sensorimotor brain shells to operate in those situations.
Then brains can continue to think. Thinking is slow because the brain uses neurotransmitters for that thing. And the thing that can make that process faster would be electric thinking. But the problem in that case is that. If sensors or senses report something alarming. The transmitters are easier to store than electric signals. Data travels in an electric form on a neuron's shell.
That is a good way to transmit information between the senses and neurons. The system uses the principle that the cells should react to danger and must have a minimum number of reactions. The information that travels in those cells includes data "attention danger". Then reflex neurons give the orders to muscles. The reaction is determined by the sensor that sends data. The receiving neuron reacts a certain way by determining what is the axon that brings data to it.
Thinking is slow, reflexes are fast.
The purpose of senses or sensors is to create information for supporting decisions. Senses' mission is not to make decisions in computers or human brains. Decisions are made by neurons.
Those neurons are near the angles. But in the case that those cells should make complicated things there is one problem. That kind of system is vulnerable to electromagnetic fields.
When we think about artificial brains or computers the "abstract thinking" in those machines can happen using the ion qubits that travel in the nanotubes. And lasers can make fast communication.
The artificial "Jennifer Aniston cells" can give imagination to computers. The new photonic microchips and the ability to control magnetic phenomena using light make it possible to create computers that have the imagination.
The knowledge of how the brains work makes it possible to create computers that mimic human thinking. The artificial "Jennifer Aniston cells" can be sub-processors that collect data from the different memory units and then connect that data into a new entirety. That thing will give the computer or neural network the ability to think abstractly or use imagination. Those new computers can use spintronics and photonics to make them energy-friendly.
The photonic computer can use things like ions or some special molecules to create a system that is similar to the human brain. Those ions that are chemical qubits can travel in the nanotubes. The alarm signals can use laser communication.
