The new hypersonic engine reaches 4000 mph (About 65000 km/h) speed.

The new hypersonic engine reaches 4000 mph (About 65000 km/h) speed.

The DMRJ (Dual-Mode Ramjet-Engine) is one of the new variants for hypersonic vehicles. And hypersonic weapons. The DMRJ engine connected with Turbine-Based Combined Cycle propulsion (TBCC) and gas turbines can make hypersonic possible to start flight from the speed of 0 and accelerate to hypersonic speed. The idea is the system uses engines as stages.

This kind of system can based on technology, where those engines are separately in the aircraft's body. Then that system can use those engines one after one as stages.

1) Regular gas turbines are used for lift-off and accelerate the aircraft to a speed of about Mach 1.

2) The Ramjet engines will ignite at the speed of Mach 1 and then accelerate the aircraft to a speed of Mach 5-7.

3) Scramjet engines will start operating at speed Mach 5-7. And that accelerates the craft to hypersonic speed.

4) If there is an iris that closes the front side of the Scramjet engine. Then the system starts to use internal oxygen with a propellant mixture. That turns the Scramjet engine into a rocket. And this thing makes the system a full-scale space shuttle.

The DMRJ system connects those three engine types in the same mission body. That kind of system can make it possible to launch spacecraft at a very low price. If the system uses technology that allows it to use regular runways or even VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) systems to lift off the SciFi spacecraft can start its run from anywhere and jump to an orbital trajectory.

In VTOL systems the small jet engines can raise the aircraft over the trees. Then the aircraft or space shuttle can start to operate with horizontal engines. This kind of system can make VTOL space shuttles a reality.

This kind of radical aviation solution can make many things that are not even thought possible. Those systems can revolutionize military and civil aviation. The remarkable thing is that scramjet and ramjet engines can use hydrogen, which is an environmentally friendly solution. The remarkable thing about those systems is their speed.
